By accessing or using beTuanis (the "Service") — including the website at betuanis.com and the beTuanis mobile application — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What beTuanis is

beTuanis is a curated guide to events happening in Santa Teresa and surrounding areas of the Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica. The Service displays events submitted by hosts and curated by us. We do not organize, host, or take responsibility for the events themselves.

2. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent event information.
• Submit content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or violates the rights of others.
• Attempt to disrupt, hack, or reverse engineer the Service.
• Scrape, copy, or republish content from the Service without permission.
• Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.

3. Event submissions

When you submit an event through the "Add your event" form, you represent and warrant that:

• You have the right to submit the event and its details.
• The information you submit is accurate and not misleading.
• You grant beTuanis a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish, display, edit (for clarity and brevity), and remove the submitted content.

We reserve the right to edit, reject, or remove any submission at our sole discretion, without notice.

4. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We make reasonable efforts to verify event information but cannot guarantee accuracy, completeness, or that events will take place as listed. Always confirm details directly with the event organizer before traveling, paying, or relying on the information.

We are not responsible for the conduct, content, products, or services of event organizers, attendees, or third parties.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, beTuanis and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses.

6. Intellectual property

The Service's design, code, branding, and original content are the property of beTuanis. You may not use any of these without prior written permission, except for fair use such as linking, quoting briefly with attribution, or personal reference.

Event content submitted by hosts remains theirs; they grant beTuanis the license described in Section 3 to publish it.

7. Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources (such as event organizers' websites or social media). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Argentina, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally may be brought before the competent courts of Argentina. This does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections you may be entitled to under the laws of your country of residence.
